UAEJJF JJPC Competition Regulations

RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE

The Jiu-Jitsu President’s Cup 2018 are organized as a Team Competition System, consisting of:

Number of Teams (quotas)

The selection list for the Team event shall be:

1. The top sixteen (16) Teams in the UAEJJF National Rank 2017-2018.

General conditions for participation

The Club Member which hold an official title of National UAE Clubs according to the UAEJJF Executive Regulations. Teams must send the respective official request including the official sheets showing all participating players to UAEJJF Head Office.

Athletes Age

Athletes must be minimum 15 years (Born in 2004 and before).

THE CHAMPIONSHIP SYSTEM:

The following are the weight categories and age groups.

TEAM SENIOR (MALE OVER 21)

Weight: -69kg, -85kg, -110kg

TEAM JUNIORS (MALE UNDER 20)

Weight: -69kg, -85kg, -110kg

TEAM ASPIRANTS (MALE UNDER 17)

Weight: -60kg, -73kg, -94kg,

General conditions and club membership

In order to participate in the UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019, the players must be a registered member of the club during the current Season (2018-2019) and at the Nominal Entry deadline 30th August 2018..

The clubs are obliged to sign agreement with each athlete to represent the club in UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019 for calendar year. The agreements must be signed before 30th August 2018.

Agreement will be signed on a unified form provided by UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019. Clubs must be ready to present the signed agreements to UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019 upon request.

Once an athlete signs for a club he is bound for UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019 to this particular club and he cannot be transferred to another club for JJPC 2018-2019 or in running calendar year. An athlete who would sign for more than one club in particular year will be suspended from participation in UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019 events in that year.

REGISTRATIONS

Authorization/Nomination of qualified clubs (Team Form to be sent to the Clubs)

  • Deadline: 1st AUGUST 2018 (23:59HRS)

The Club shall confirm the participation and nominate their participating players by filling in and sending Team Form to UAEJJJF Head Office.

The qualified and authorised clubs have to send their Team registrations. This registrations is to confirm participation of the team and should be signed by the President of the Club or official representative. This registrations have to contain the weight and names of the competitors.

Further, the Team Official has to create the club players in www.UAEJJF.com.

Team registrations (online)

  • Deadline: 30th August 2018 (23:59HRS)

All registered teams have to enter all delegates and athletes in events.uaejjf.org.

Nominal registrations is limited to six (6) quota or eight (8) maximum number of athletes and one (1) coach and one (1) official.

Since after this date no new athletes can be added (no matter for what reason) it’s highly recommended to register as many athletes as possible to have a sufficient number of athletes also in case of injuries.

The following example shows all actions to be taken to include an athlete from Al Jazira in the team list of the Al Ain Club.

Final Team List Confirmation

  • During Accreditation: weigh in 30th August 2018

The final list of the team, minimum three (3) competitors, is confirmed with the UAEJJF official at the accreditation. The competitors on the final list of Club can only be chosen from the nominal list entered in UAEJJF.com by 1st August 2018 (No new athletes can be added!).

KINDLY NOTE: NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE IN CASE OF LATE SUBMISSION OF ONE OF THE FORMS.

Notice: All bank fees and bank transfer costs are to be paid by the mandatory

In case that a team withdraws from the competition and has not informed the UAEJJF Head Office by written notice at least 1 month before the date of the competition, the club will pay a fine.

ACCREDITATION

The times and place for check-in and accreditation are specified in the program. Club delegations must arrive and check-in within the time limits provided. A maximum of 2 representatives per Team is allowed in the accreditation room.

Final Team List Confirmation

A list of all the inscribed competitors per each team will be generated by the UAEJJF, from which the head of delegation will select the athletes for the final team list (see 5. registrations). Note: No new athletes can be added. The final team list is confirmed by the UAEJJF official.

TECHNICAL DETAILS

Composition of Team for Contest

The team should consist of three (3) competitors one in each of the following weight categories:

TEAM SENIOR (MALE OVER 21)

Weight: -69kg, -85kg, -110kg

TEAM JUNIORS (MALE UNDER 20)

Weight: -69kg, -85kg, -110kg

TEAM ASPIRANTS (MALE UNDER 17)

Weight: -60kg, -73kg, -94kg,

In order to be represented, the team must be composed of at least 2 (two) competitors who can compete in 3 (three) different weight categories.

*Clubs can have three teams (one for each age group) or only compete in a single age group Team competition.

Competition Format

The tournament shall be a doubles round robin format with sixteen (16) teams.

There shall be four (4) groups of four (4) teams each with four (4) seeds to be determined by the 2017-2018 UAEJJF World Rankings.

The round robin shall determine the four (4) teams for the semi-finals with the format thereafter being a single elimination competition.

All teams defeated in the first round and later rounds of elimination table will be positioned in repechage table in a pre-set order.

The winners of two repechage final contests will compete in bronze medal contests against the loser of the semifinal contest of the opposite half of elimination table.

Duration of Individual Contests

Duration women’s contests: 5 minutes and 1 minute Golden Score.

Line-Up of the Team

Before each team contest the team leader must present to the Sport Director the line-up of the team. At each round he/she has the right to replace one or several competitors by other competitors of the corresponding weight category or from the next lower category.

All competitors in the line-up for the team entering the mat for the official bow have to compete. If one competitor does not compete the team will lose by disqualification 0 - 3!

A competitor, who has presented himself for the contest and does not compete, loses the right to compete in the event. If one team does not arrive for the match, the other team will be declared the winner 3 - 0.

Decision

The team contest consists of 3 individual contests in the 3 weight categories (lightweight, middleweight, heavyweight).

The number of individual contests won will decide the winning team

  • Win by Submission = 4 points
  • Win by Points or non showed up = 3 points
  • Draw = 1 point
  • Loser = 0 points

In case of an equal score at final match, the match it will be declared draw = 1 point for each team and next match will be contested. If fight is draw at the end of third contest, the contest will be continued with Golden Score.

In case the both teams are represented by 2 athletes only and the number of wins is equal, the team with the higher sum of winning technical scores is the winner. In case the sum of winning technical scores is also equal the contest will be continued with Golden Score.

Brackets draw

The brackets draw will take place one day before the competition; place and time can be found in the program. At least one delegate from each participating club must attend the draw; a maximum of two delegates per team will be allowed in the draw room.

WEIGH-IN

Place and time for weigh-in can be found in the program. .

The weigh-in will be organised by teams, the full team must be presented for the weigh-in and the weight of the athletes must fall within the limits of their category to which they belong to.

Athletes:

  • presenting themselves after the closing of the weigh-in, cannot participate.
  • can present themselves only one time on the scales during the official weigh-in.
  • must present their UAEJJF accreditation and PASSPORT or National ID Card showing nationality and date of birth at the official weigh-in.

AWARDING & PRIZE MONEY

The UAEJJF shall provide for the medal ceremony:

  • First place: 1 Trophy, up to 6 Gold medals and prize money
  • Second place: 1 Trophy, up to 6 Silver medals and prize money
  • Third place: 1 Trophy, up to 6 Bronze medals and prize money

Every medallist team can take part at the awarding ceremony with a max. 6 players and 1 coach.

It is strictly forbidden for competitors on the podium to bring clubs flags or the similar identification other than the one represented in the regular manner on their equipment. Any demonstration of religious, political, personal or commercial sign is prohibited and so is wearing a cap or any other head cover.

Teams placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd will receive prize money as follows:

Prize money will be paid by bank transfer not later than 10 (ten) days after competition according to bank details sent by Club to UAEJJF Head Office. After receipt of payment, Club will have obligation to send signed Acknowledgement (UAEJJF Treasury will send the form).

Qualification for JJPC 2nd Round 2018-2019

The four (4) medallists of 1st round of UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019 will be seeded directly for 2nd Round UAEJJF JJPC 2018-2019.

GI CONTROL (KIMONO)

Approved GI

All players must compete in UAEJJF Approved GI.

GI Control

It will be checked prior to the fight.

Backnumber

Each competitor taking part in the JJPC events is obliged to have sewn on the back of his GI the official backnumber (both UAEJJF and clubs are allowed) bearing his surname and his Club abbreviation. The backnumber will be provided from UAEJJF.

The special back label (sticker) of the JJPC 2018 will be given to the head of delegation during registration, and the athletes have to stick it themselves on the sewed backnumber (dry GI).

Markings and Advertising

Please note: On all advertising spaces it is strictly prohibited to promote tobacco, alcohol, any substances listed in the doping code, or any product or service contrary to public morals.

Important:

  • If an athlete does not respect the Gi rules, the athlete will not be permitted to pass the GI Control, and the coach who is responsible for the athlete will be suspended for the rest of the competition day.
  • In the case of a repeated offence the coach will be suspended for the rest of the competition.

COACHING

Code of behavior of coaches as defined in the UAEJJF Regulations will be strictly observed, inclusive the Dress Code.

  • Coaches are not allowed to give indications to the competitors while they are fighting inside the field of play.
  • Only during the pause time (after stop), will coaches be permitted to give indications to their athletes.
  • After the pause is finished, and the fight continues (referee fight command), coaches must keep silent.
  • If a coach doesn ́t follow these rules, she/he can be expelled from the competition area.
  • If coaches persist with such behavior the UAEJJF Accreditation will be taken away for the day. If the coach still persists with this behavior from outside the competition area, she/he could be penalized further.
