About Grappling Bros
Grappling Bros was founded in April 2018 by Diego Barreto and Paulo de Carvalho Morand. Diego Barreto is a fourth dan black belt Judo player, 2-stripe black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and worldwide champion. Paulo Morand is an experienced BJJ player, brown belt and coach with 20 years experience on the mats. In July 2018 we were joined by Pedro Antun Neto, black belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and black belt Judo. Pedro is a national and international competitor in both sports and brings many years teaching experience to our dojo.
Grappling Bros introduces a new perspective on teaching martial arts. Traditionally, students begin learning martial arts combat on their knees; real martial arts combat begins while standing. The same perspective can be applied to self-defense, the essential goal of martial arts.
